Hezbollah buried 44 people, most of them its fighters, in the town of Majdal Selem in southern Lebanon on Saturday, after they were killed by Israeli army shelling and clashes.
Last Wednesday, the municipality of Majdal Selem announced in a statement that the number of people to be buried in a collective ceremony was 44.
According to the death notice list that included 44 names, including two women, the burial ceremony also included Hussein Wahib Yassin, whom the party described as a 'jihadist leader'.
The funeral ceremony was held in the town located in the Bint Jbeil district, where the coffins were wrapped with Hezbollah's banner, while participating scouts raised pictures of the fighters being buried.
Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV broadcast scenes showing hundreds of participants in the funeral, raising the party's flags and Lebanese flags.
The coffins were transported by truck to the town square before being moved to burial sites.
The channel said that the party 'buried a group of martyrs who ascended in the battle of al-Asf al-Ma'kul with a massive participation,' without further details.
Earlier on Saturday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from Israeli aggression on the country had risen to 4,328 killed and 12,227 wounded since March 2.
Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon despite the two sides signing, under US sponsorship, a 'framework agreement' on June 26, which stipulates a phased Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, starting with two pilot areas.
The attacks also come after talks held in the Italian capital Rome, which discussed the start of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from two areas in southern Lebanon.
Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades, and others it seized during the war between 2023 and 2024 and the aggression that began in March.
