The Syrian Anti-Narcotics Department, in coordination with the Internal Security Command in the desert, thwarted an international drug smuggling attempt following a precise security operation carried out in the southeastern countryside of Sweida province.

The operation resulted in the seizure and confiscation of approximately half a ton of hashish, belonging to outlaw groups in Sweida.

Competent authorities continue their investigations and security follow-up to uncover and pursue those involved in the smuggling attempt, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures against them.
