Capitals - Agencies:

Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan thwarted Iranian missile and drone attacks in a new escalation of regional tensions, while authorities activated air defense systems and sounded sirens, and took precautionary measures including the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace and rescheduling flights, as Kuwait announced a fire breaking out at a power and water desalination plant coinciding with the attack, confirming control of the situation and continued stability of the electrical system.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army announced that air defense forces confronted hostile missiles and drones that entered the country's airspace, confirming that the sounds heard in a number of areas were caused by interception operations of aerial targets, calling on citizens and residents to obtain information from official sources and adhere to instructions from the relevant authorities and not to succumb to rumors.

In a related development, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced in a statement numbered (20) that another power and water desalination plant was subjected to a 'hostile attack' leading to a fire breaking out in one of the plant's components, prompting the implementation of precautionary operational procedures consisting of disconnecting a number of generation units, to preserve the safety of the plant and its workers and ensure the stability of the electrical system. The ministry affirmed that its emergency teams, in coordination with the General Fire Force and relevant authorities, started dealing with the fire immediately after it occurred, noting that operational plans and emergency plans were activated immediately to ensure the continuity and stability of the electricity and water systems and limit any potential impact on service, with technical and operational teams continuing to monitor the situation around the clock.
