Iraqi media reported Tuesday that air defense systems shot down three suicide drones after loud explosions were heard in the city of Erbil.

Rudaw TV, broadcasting from Erbil, reported hearing violent explosions in the city's skies after air defense systems were activated, saying three suicide drones were shot down.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), which opposes the authorities in Tehran, announced that one of its camps near Erbil was targeted with two rockets.

Since the outbreak of war between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on the cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.

These attacks continued even after the signing of a memorandum of understanding stipulating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

Last Friday, the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq announced that the international coalition shot down 8 explosive-laden drones over the sky of Erbil province, while 9 members of the Komala organization, opposed to the Iranian government, were killed and 3 others seriously injured in a rocket attack targeting the organization's camp in Sulaymaniyah province.
