The Israeli army on Monday killed a Palestinian northwest of Jerusalem, and arrested two others in the central and northern occupied West Bank, simultaneously with attacks carried out by settlers.

In Jerusalem, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported in a statement that 'its crews dealt with a martyr by Israeli gunfire' near the apartheid separation wall in the town of Bir Nabala northwest of the city.

A local source told Anadolu correspondent that 'the Israeli army shot a young man (19 years old) near the separation wall built on the town's land, causing an abdominal injury. He remained bleeding until ambulance crews reached him and attempted to revive him, before they announced his martyrdom.'

In East Jerusalem, local sources and eyewitnesses told Anadolu that Israeli forces, accompanied by a military bulldozer, stormed the town of Silwan south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and deployed in several of its neighborhoods.

In the central West Bank, local sources told Anadolu that Israeli forces arrested the young man Fadi Abdullah Taha after storming the town of 'Kafr Malik' northeast of Ramallah.

The sources added that the Israeli army set up a temporary military checkpoint near the Ain Ayoub area northwest of Ramallah and searched vehicles in the area.

According to a report published by the Palestinian Authority's Commission of Resistance to the Wall and Settlements last June, the number of Israeli military checkpoints and gates in the Palestinian territories exceeded 916, including 243 gates erected since October 7, 2023.

In a related context, local sources said settlers blocked a road with stones in the town of Turmus Ayya north of Ramallah, while others released their livestock on farmers' lands in the village of Al-Mughayyir northeast of the city.

Settlers also stormed the 'Halaq al-Rummana' gathering west of Jericho and released their livestock in the area, according to the same sources.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian from the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, after storming the camp and raiding and searching several homes, according to local sources for Anadolu.

This comes within an ongoing Israeli escalation in the West Bank since October 8, 2023, by the army and settlers, which has resulted in the killing of 1,179 Palestinians, the wounding of about 13,000, and the arrest of about 24,000, according to official data.
