The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the heinous terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia targeting a vessel owned by a Saudi company while it was sailing in the Red Sea, which resulted in a fire at the front of the ship without any casualties. It considered this a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as well as a serious threat to maritime navigation security, international trade safety, and energy supplies.

The ministry affirmed the full solidarity of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete support for the legitimate measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, stability, and vital interests. It renewed its call on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to these terrorist attacks, taking deterrent measures to protect the safety and security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb, and all other vital waterways, and holding those responsible for these attacks accountable, in order to preserve regional and global security and stability.
