Iranian authorities announced Tuesday that 4 sites in Bushehr province on the Strait of Hormuz were hit by US missile strikes.

An Anadolu correspondent reported, citing Iranian media, that explosions were heard in Bushehr and Jaghadek after blasts were heard in Bandar Abbas.

He added that Bushehr province said in a statement that US missiles targeted 4 sites in Bushehr and Jaghadek, with no reports of casualties.

Earlier Tuesday, Iranian state TV reported new explosions in Bandar Abbas, a city in Hormozgan province in southern Iran.

The TV said five blasts were heard west of Bandar Abbas, overlooking the Strait of Hormuz, without specifying their source.

On Tuesday morning, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of the latest wave of attacks on military targets in Iran, including Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas.

The Strait of Hormuz region is witnessing security tensions against the backdrop of the war launched by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28.

For days, the US has been conducting attacks on Iran, claiming retaliation for Tehran's targeting of commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Last June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that included a ceasefire, following Qatari and Pakistani mediation, to pave the way for a final agreement to end the war, before Trump announced on July 8 the end of the ceasefire amid renewed escalation.
