Kuwait's Ministry of Defense reported that since dawn today (Saturday), the armed forces detected ballistic missiles and hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace, which were intercepted and dealt with.

The ministry's official spokesman, Colonel Saud Al-Attwan, stated that the sinful Iranian aggression continued targeting a number of military and security installations, as well as several vital and civilian facilities in the country. The attacks affected facilities belonging to the oil, electricity, and water sectors, resulting in fires and severe damage to several facilities and installations.

He pointed out that the relevant authorities began firefighting and repair work, resulting in injuries to a number of Fire Force personnel and several workers in the oil sector while performing their duties. They are receiving medical care and necessary treatment.

The interception of hostile attacks also resulted in falling shrapnel in several locations and residential areas, causing material damage with no reported human injuries.

For its part, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that another power and water distillation station was subjected to a hostile attack, resulting in a fire in one of the station's components.

It added that the fire necessitated precautionary operational measures, including disconnecting a number of generation units to ensure the safety of the station and its workers and to maintain the stability of the electrical grid. It noted that emergency plans have been activated while firefighting and repair work continues.

The Fire Force announced that its teams dealt with two fires that broke out in two different locations in Kuwait after they were targeted in the recent Iranian attacks. It indicated that the first incident resulted in a number of injuries among firefighters and one worker during the firefighting operation, and the site was evacuated and they were transferred to receive necessary first aid.

Later on Saturday afternoon, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced that a vital site in the oil sector was subjected to repeated treacherous Iranian attacks this morning, resulting in a number of injuries and severe material losses.

The corporation reported that the injured were given first aid and the site was evacuated, and the attack is being handled in coordination with relevant state authorities.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Airways announced the rescheduling of most of its flights after temporarily suspending takeoffs and landings at Kuwait International Airport following Iranian missile and drone attacks.

It called on travelers to follow updates on their flights, stating that notifications and text messages will be sent to phone numbers registered in bookings to inform them of any updates.

In the same context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait's condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the sinful Iranian aggression that targeted the country's territory this morning, and struck another power and water distillation station.

The ministry affirmed in a statement that the repeated targeting of these vital facilities reveals a systematic aggressive approach targeting civilian objects and critical infrastructure, endangering the lives and safety of civilians, in a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817. The ministry held Iran fully responsible for this brutal aggression and its repercussions, demanding it immediately cease its attacks.

It stressed that the State of Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to preserve its security and defend its territory and vital facilities against any aggression or threat, based on its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the rules of international law.
