Kuwait - Agencies:
The Kuwaiti government confirmed that the continued attacks on its consulate in the Iraqi city of Basra represent an unacceptable violation, calling on the Iraqi authorities to take immediate measures to hold all those involved in these attacks accountable.
The government stressed, in a statement, that targeting the Kuwaiti consulate undermines the efforts made by the Iraqi government to fulfill its international obligations, affirming the necessity of providing full protection for diplomatic missions in accordance with international laws and agreements.
Kuwait demanded that the Iraqi government urgently move and take immediate measures to hold those responsible for the attack on the consulate accountable, ensuring that such incidents are not repeated and preserving international obligations regarding the protection of diplomatic premises.
In the same context, the Kuwaiti government condemned what it described as the 'sinful aggression' carried out by Iran and its loyalist militias in Iraq, affirming its rejection of these attacks. It also considered that the continued attacks carried out by Iran and its agents inside Iraq constitute a flagrant violation of Kuwait's sovereignty and threaten security and stability in the region.
