Kuwait repels hostile missile and drone attacks
The Kuwaiti Armed Forces announced that the air defenses repelled hostile missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwaiti airspace, affirming that the air defense systems engaged the aerial threats immediately upon detection according to approved procedures, ensuring the preservation of the country's security and the safety of its territory.
It clarified that a ballistic missile, five cruise missiles, and 33 hostile drones were detected and intercepted within Kuwaiti airspace since last evening until now, confirming that the projectiles and drones were coming from Iran.
It added that the interception operations resulted in falling debris in a number of facilities, causing material damage, and four members of the armed forces were injured as a result of an attack on one of its naval vessels.
The air defenses continue to perform their duties in monitoring the airspace and repelling any potential threats, indicating that they are following developments around the clock and taking all necessary measures to deal with developments in order to preserve the security and stability of the country.
The General Staff called on citizens and residents to adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities, and to cooperate with official guidance, stressing that the concerned authorities will continue to inform the public of any developments through official channels.
In a related context, the official spokesperson of the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Muhammad al-Gharib, announced that six firefighting teams, supported by teams from the Kuwaiti Army and the National Guard, managed to control a fire that broke out at a site inside the country, following the targeting of the site as part of the hostile attacks carried out by the sinful Iranian aggression, confirming that no injuries were recorded.
