Kuwait's military intercepted two ballistic missiles and 13 drones early Wednesday, with no casualties; the Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks as a grave violation of international law and affirmed Kuwait's right to self-defense.
Kuwait's Ministry of Defense announced that the armed forces successfully intercepted two hostile ballistic missiles and 13 drones that breached Kuwaiti airspace early this morning (Wednesday), confirming that no material damage or human casualties occurred as a result of the incident.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Staff Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, explained that the armed forces detected the two ballistic missiles and the drones as soon as they entered the airspace, and they were successfully engaged and intercepted in accordance with approved military procedures.
The Ministry of Defense affirmed that the armed forces continue to carry out their duties and missions with efficiency and competence, within the framework of constant readiness and permanent preparedness, to enhance the country's security and preserve the safety of citizens and residents.
Foreign Ministry: The attacks are a grave violation of international law
For its part, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the country's strongest condemnation and denunciation of the repeated Iranian aggressions against the State of Kuwait, the latest of which occurred this morning, in a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, and a grave violation of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.
The ministry reiterated that the continuation of these blatant attacks, at a time when regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation are underway, constitutes a systematic undermining of efforts to reduce tensions and defies the international will supporting this course.
The ministry stressed that the security, sovereignty, and safety of the citizens and residents of the State of Kuwait are a red line that cannot be crossed, reaffirming that the State of Kuwait reserves its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty and protect its security and stability.
