The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s project 'Masam' for clearing Yemeni lands of mines, in the second week of July 2026, managed to remove 1,293 mines from various areas of Yemen, including 65 anti-tank mines, two anti-personnel mines, 1,218 unexploded ordnance, and eight explosive devices. The Masam project team in Aden governorate removed 642 unexploded ordnance and two explosive devices in Aden city, one anti-tank mine in Khor Maksar district, and nine unexploded ordnance and one explosive device in Qatabah district of Al-Dhalea governorate; the team removed one unexploded ordnance in Hays district of Al-Hudaydah governorate; and removed two anti-personnel mines, two anti-tank mines, and 440 unexploded ordnance in Al-Mukalla district of Hadramawt governorate. In Midi district of Hajjah governorate, the Masam team removed 61 anti-tank mines, 51 unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices; 21 unexploded ordnance in Al-Mudhaffar district of Lahij governorate; and in Marib governorate, removed nine unexploded ordnance and three explosive devices in Al-Wadi district; the team removed one anti-tank mine in Asilan district of Shabwah governorate; and in Taiz governorate, removed 20 unexploded ordnance in Al-Makha district, 22 unexploded ordnance in Dhubab district, and three unexploded ordnance in Salah district. Thus, the number of mines removed since the beginning of July has risen to 2,500 mines, while the number of mines removed since the start of the Masam project has risen to 573,625 mines, after they were randomly planted in various Yemeni lands to harvest innocent lives of children, women, and the elderly, and to sow fear in the hearts of the secure. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, continues its efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines, as part of a project that enhances the safety of civilians and contributes to enabling Yemeni brethren to live a dignified and secure life.
