Scams are no longer a fleeting trick in the online world; they have turned into a 'business' run with extremely malicious criminal intelligence. This was confirmed by the details of the shocking criminal project launched by an Egyptian young man on social media platforms, targeting the most dangerous human desires: possessing power and weapons outside the law, to amass a huge fortune in record time.
The young man planned everything meticulously, drawing the outlines of his illusory empire by exploiting a clever loophole: that his victims would never dare to complain or report to the authorities!
The young man (unemployed and residing in Ismailia Governorate) began his criminal project by creating a mysterious page on social media. Instead of promoting conventional goods, he decided to play with the forbidden, filling the page with pictures and videos of firearms, pistols, automatic rifles, and even an arsenal of bladed weapons, announcing a 'fast delivery for a fee' service.
The project relied on the psychology of 'fear and greed.' Customers drooling over the acquisition of an unlicensed weapon would quickly fall into the trap. The young man managed conversations with the professionalism of a seasoned arms dealer, convincing the victim to transfer huge sums as a 'deposit' via e-wallets to secure the shipment. As soon as the transfer was completed, the final act of the scam began: a permanent block, phone turned off, and the money evaporated!
But what the young man did not account for was that the radars of the security agencies were monitoring all his movements in cyberspace. The General Administration for Combating Information Technology Crimes, in coordination with the Public Security Sector, led a complex tracking operation of the digital traces he left behind.
After precisely identifying his identity and location, a large security force moved in an urgent mission, raided the suspect's den in Ismailia, and arrested him red-handed with the mobile phone used to run the 'phantom arsenal.'
When confronted, the young man broke down and confessed in detail to his criminal project, dropping the shocking bombshell that he did not own a single bullet, and that all those weapons were just pictures for fraud and deception. The necessary legal procedures were taken, the report was filed, and the suspect was referred to the public prosecution, ending his 'million-dollar' project behind bars.
