Jerusalem (CNN) -- An Israeli military official said Saturday that the United States has reinforced its fleet of tanker aircraft in Israel, as part of adjustments to its force posture in the Middle East region, amid successive waves of US strikes on Iran.

Israel did not participate in the latest wave of strikes against Iran since the collapse of the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, despite its previous involvement in 'Operation Epic Fury,' and Iran has not attempted to launch attacks on Israel.

The official added that the United States also chose to deploy some tanker aircraft at bases belonging to the Israeli Air Force - in coordination with the Israeli military - with the aim of reducing disruption to civilian air traffic and due to operational considerations.

The official said the Israeli military is doing its utmost to facilitate the deployment of US forces in Israel while ensuring its own air needs are met.
