Oil tanker hit by unknown projectile off the coast of Oman

An oil tanker was hit by an unknown projectile 8 nautical miles east of the city of Lima in Oman.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the projectile struck the left side of the tanker, causing a fire as it sailed south, with no injuries or environmental impact reported.

The authority confirmed that the competent authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, calling for caution and reporting any suspicious activity.
