Oman affirms need to avoid escalation in the Red Sea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman today emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation in the Red Sea region and steering clear of any threats that could exacerbate the situation and endanger freedom of navigation.
The ministry stated in a statement on its account on platform 'X' that it is closely following the latest developments related to the situation in the Red Sea region.
It stressed the need to maintain the security of maritime corridors and the safety of international navigation, contributing to regional stability and avoiding the expansion of tensions.
The Omani Foreign Ministry reported that the Sultanate of Oman is currently working, in coordination with brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yemeni parties, and the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, to resume the political process and the roadmap.
It affirmed that these efforts aim to achieve security and stability in the region and support political solutions that contribute to de-escalation and address existing challenges through peaceful means.
