The Yemeni government condemned the terrorist attack carried out by Houthi militias on a commercial ship in the Red Sea, stressing that this escalation reflects the group's determination to undermine regional and international efforts to reduce tension and drag Yemen into conflicts that do not serve the interests of its people.

Yemeni ports, including the port of Hodeidah, continue to receive commercial ships.

It stated that the firm response of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy came to protect international navigation and deter terrorist activities, while adhering to the rules of international law and taking all precautions to protect civilians and infrastructure.

The government affirmed that Yemeni ports, including the port of Hodeidah, continue to receive commercial ships and humanitarian supplies normally without damage, reflecting the coalition's commitment to ensuring the flow of goods and protecting civilian facilities. It considered that the Houthi escalation reveals the group's continued service to the Iranian regime's agendas and its use of the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb as a blackmail card threatening regional and international security.

The government stressed continued coordination with the coalition and international partners to take all necessary measures to protect civilians, secure international navigation, and preserve Yemen's sovereignty, holding the Houthis fully responsible for the humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions, and calling on the international community to take a firmer stance to stop the financing and arming of the terrorist group.
