The Maritime Security Center in Oman announced on Tuesday that three tankers were subjected to separate attacks off the coasts of Musandam and South Sharqiyah governorates, resulting, according to preliminary data, in six injuries and three missing crew members.

The center reported in a series of statements that a tanker was attacked 40 nautical miles off the coast of South Sharqiyah governorate, after which its crew of 23 members was evacuated via a marine vessel present near the incident site.

It confirmed that all crew members of the tanker are 'in good health'.

The second tanker, flying the Liberian flag, was attacked 8.5 nautical miles off the coast of Musandam governorate.

The center noted that the tanker's crew of 21 members was evacuated, including six injured.

It did not specify the owners of the two tankers.

In a later statement, the center announced that the oil tanker 'Al Bahyah,' owned by 'AL BAHYAH INC' based in the UAE, was attacked 9.1 nautical miles off the coast of Musandam governorate.

It added that one of the Royal Navy of Oman vessels is monitoring the incident's developments, noting that 18 crew members of the tanker were evacuated via marine vessels present near the location.

The center confirmed that 3 crew members of the tanker remain missing.

The center did not specify in its preliminary statements the entity that carried out the attacks or the nature of the weapons used.

The incidents come amid rising security tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, coinciding with renewed military confrontations between the United States and Iran.

The United States has been launching attacks on Iran since Saturday, claiming to retaliate for Tehran targeting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, Tehran is bombing what it says are US military facilities in several Arab countries, while some of those countries have reported civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure due to Iranian attacks.
