Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed Egypt's firm position in supporting the sovereignty and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, affirming complete rejection of unjustified attacks on Arab brotherly countries.

Just solution for the Palestinian cause

El-Sisi reviewed today (Monday) with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, his country's efforts to de-escalate in the region and reach peaceful solutions to crises and conflicts, stressing the need for continued coordination among various partners and encouraging the American and Iranian sides to reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.

The Egyptian presidency said in a statement that El-Sisi presented his country's vision on the need to reach a just solution to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, affirming Egypt's rejection of any attempts aimed at displacing Palestinians from their land, and stressing in this regard the need to reconstruct the Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

New horizons for developing relations

The spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said that El-Sisi stressed the special nature of this visit as it is the first at the presidential level since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries following Montenegro's independence in 2006.

He affirmed Egypt's keenness to explore new horizons for developing bilateral relations, especially in the economic field and diversifying trade exchange, taking advantage of the promising opportunities available in both countries. El-Sisi noted the Montenegrin Parliament's formation of a parliamentary friendship association with Egypt, considering it an important pillar for strengthening official and popular relations.

Beginning of a new stage in relations

For his part, President Milatović affirmed his country's keenness to develop bilateral relations in various fields of common interest, and expressed his country's aspiration to benefit from Egypt's distinguished expertise in the tourism, energy, and infrastructure sectors, pointing to successful Egyptian investments in the tourism sector in his country, and Montenegro's desire to increase the volume of these investments and expand their scope to include other areas.

He expressed his country's appreciation for Egyptian efforts in the field of illegal immigration, and praised the great harmony between the positions of the two countries regarding international crises, based on prioritizing diplomatic solutions and joint cooperation over the option of war or use of force, expressing his appreciation for Egyptian efforts in support of regional stability and security, and affirming, regarding the Palestinian cause, his country's support for the two-state solution.

The two presidents agreed that this visit would be the beginning of a new stage of distinguished relations and intensive political consultation between the two countries, both bilaterally and regarding international issues of common interest.

In this context, President Milatović extended an invitation to El-Sisi to visit Montenegro.
