The Pakistani army announced today the elimination of ten armed terrorists and the arrest of two women who were preparing to carry out suicide attacks, during a series of security operations carried out in Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan, as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.

The media wing of the Pakistani army said in a statement that security forces, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, carried out several search and raid operations over the past 48 hours in the districts of Surab and Mastung, as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad implemented under the National Action Plan to combat terrorism. The statement added that the forces eliminated seven militants during an operation in the Surab area, while another operation in the Mastung area resulted in the elimination of three militants.

The army affirmed that search and pursuit operations are still ongoing in the targeted areas to track any other elements, stressing that the armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their operations until the elimination of armed groups and their support networks.
