The project's weekly report stated that the removed mines included 70 anti-tank mines and 23 anti-personnel mines, in addition to 1,688 unexploded ordnance and 5 improvised explosive devices.

Distribution of clearance operations by region

The center noted that the Masam team in Aden governorate removed 11 anti-personnel mines, 22 anti-tank mines, 957 unexploded ordnance, and 5 improvised explosive devices in Aden city, in addition to removing 10 unexploded ordnance in Qatabah district of Al-Dhale governorate.

The report added that the team removed one anti-tank mine in Hays district of Al-Hudaydah governorate, and 12 anti-personnel mines and 589 unexploded ordnance in Al-Mukalla district of Hadramawt governorate.

In Midi district of Hajjah governorate, 46 anti-tank mines and 99 unexploded ordnance were removed, while one unexploded ordnance was removed in Ayn district of Shabwa governorate. The team also removed one anti-tank mine in Al-Makha district of Taiz governorate, 20 unexploded ordnance in Dhubab district, and 12 unexploded ordnance in Salah district.

Total mines cleared since the start of the project

In the same context, the total number of mines cleared since the beginning of July has risen to 4,286 mines. The number of mines removed since the launch of Project Masam has reached 575,411 mines.

It is noted that mines were randomly planted in Yemeni lands, threatening the lives of children, women, and the elderly, and spreading fear among civilians.
