ASIR — The Saudi Border Guard arrested four Ethiopian nationals in the Asir Region for attempting to smuggle 34 kilograms of hashish.

The suspects were caught by Border Guard land patrols in the Raboua Sector of the Asir Region and arrested for violating the Border Security Law during a drug smuggling attempt.

Authorities said the necessary preliminary legal procedures had been completed, and the suspects, along with the seized drugs, were referred to the competent authority.

The Border Guard urged the public to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, 999 in the rest of the Kingdom, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

Authorities reiterated that all reports are handled with complete confidentiality and that informants bear no legal responsibility.

This case is part of a series of drug interdictions in the Asir Region, which shares a border with Yemen.
