The Special Forces for Environmental Security apprehended three citizens who violated the environmental system in various regions of the Kingdom, and legal procedures were applied against each of them.

Vehicle entry into Imam Faisal bin Turki Reserve

One citizen was apprehended after entering with his vehicle into the protected natural meadows and wild plants within Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. The forces clarified that the penalty for this violation is a fine of up to 2,000 riyals.

Lighting fire in unauthorized places in Asir

Another citizen was also apprehended in the Asir region for lighting fire in unauthorized places, violating instructions to preserve vegetation cover. The penalty for lighting fire in forests and national parks is a fine of up to 3,000 riyals.

Illegal grazing in Imam Turki bin Abdullah Reserve

In Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve, a third citizen was apprehended grazing 80 heads of sheep in locations where grazing is prohibited. The prescribed fine is 200 riyals per head of sheep.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security called on citizens to report any aggression against the environment or wildlife via phone number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and numbers 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions, stressing that all reports are handled with complete confidentiality without any liability on the reporter.
