Israeli settlers inscribed a slogan used by extremist groups on stones of a wall inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday.

The Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement that settlers drew the slogan 'Al-Mukhalis' on stones of the eastern courtyard of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, 'in a step carrying dangerous Judaization implications.'

It added that the drawing coincides with 'calls by Temple organizations to carry out a broad storming of the mosque on Thursday next week, on the occasion of the so-called remembrance of the destruction of the Temple.'

According to the governorate, the slogan 'is one of the symbols associated with the doctrine of building the alleged Temple, and has recently appeared on the clothing of occupation soldiers and their military vehicles.'

On Tuesday, according to the governorate, 275 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the direction of the Mughrabi Gate in the western wall of the mosque.

Israeli police unilaterally allowed settlers to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 2003.

The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem repeatedly called for an end to the incursions, but without response from Israeli authorities.

Palestinians say that Israel is intensively working to Judaize East Jerusalem and erase its Arab and Islamic identity, while they cling to it as the capital of their future state.
