Syria seizes rockets and weapons intended for transfer to Hezbollah
The Syrian state news agency SANA reported on Thursday, citing a source in the Ministry of Interior, that specialized units thwarted an attempt to bring in a shipment of specialized weapons and rockets across the Syrian-Iraqi border.
The source added that preliminary investigations proved that the seized shipment was prepared to cross Syrian territory for the benefit of the Lebanese Hezbollah group.

Meanwhile, the Syrian president said that the US talk about a Syrian role in Lebanon does not mean direct military intervention, but rather a positive role within the framework of Lebanese state institutions aimed at stopping the war and finding peaceful paths to a solution.
He explained that the Syrian approach to the solution in Lebanon was raised during contacts and discussions with the United States and a number of international parties, and focuses on the need to immediately halt military operations, address the effects of the war on Lebanon and Syria, in addition to exploring solutions that go beyond traditional frameworks that are no longer able to produce practical results.
