The Syrian state news agency SANA reported Thursday, citing a source in the Interior Ministry, that specialized units foiled an attempt to bring in a shipment of advanced weapons and missiles across the Syrian-Iraqi border.

The source added that preliminary investigations confirmed that the seized consignment was prepared to transit Syrian territory for the benefit of the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
