Political / GCC Secretary General: The treacherous Iranian attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan represent a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the region

Riyadh, 24 Muharram 1448 AH corresponding to 09 July 2026 SPA. His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He emphasized that the continuation of these attacks reflects an unacceptable escalatory approach, constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereignty of states, and a serious breach of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. His Excellency affirmed that these hostile Iranian acts represent a direct threat to regional security and peace, and undermine international efforts aimed at establishing stability and reducing tension. He stressed that their continuation necessitates a firm and deterrent international stance to put an end to these irresponsible Iranian practices, and to ensure respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs.
