The Syrian Anti-Narcotics Department announced the dismantling of major international smuggling networks, drawing the curtain on the criminal career of the most prominent masterminds of drug trafficking operations, as part of ongoing efforts and high-level security coordination.

The department explained that the roles of these accused were divided among financing, devising complex methods to hide drugs, overseeing shipping and packaging chains, and providing logistical support, noting that the networks targeted the Arabian Gulf countries, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, and Libya.

The department revealed the identities of the most prominent detainees as follows:

Amer Al-Sheikh: Classified as the top financier in the Fourth Division, topping the list of the largest smuggling kingpins in the region, as he harnessed his influence and networks to pump money and support the military operations of the system, becoming a main financial artery for it.

Mohanad Al-Nu'man: An international trader and smuggler with close ties to the Fourth Division, he oversees the operational management of complex maritime smuggling routes linking Libya, Egypt, and Lebanon, turning international waterways into illegal routes for transporting shipments.

Ammar Mowaffaq Omran: In charge of the technical and logistical file for the Fourth Division, overseeing shipping and packaging chains and devising methods to conceal narcotics, in addition to directly managing international smuggling operations towards Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Muhammad Amin Qasim Al-Issa: Has field experience in international smuggling dating back to 2005, targeting Arabian Gulf countries with massive export networks that made him one of the most prominent influential figures in drug trafficking.

Ghazwan Daqo: Manages a large-scale smuggling network across international borders, and is considered one of the most prominent international smuggling kingpins.

Hassan Haj Ibrahim: Operates on the border axis linking Syria and Turkey, managing extensive smuggling operations characterized by precision and danger.
