To Enhance Cybersecurity: A Promising Partnership Between Saudi Company 'Cipher' and Syrian Ministry of Energy

The Encrypted Text for Cybersecurity Company (Cipher) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Ministry of Energy, in a promising step to enhance cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity and build an integrated system to protect critical infrastructure in the energy sector, contributing to raising readiness to face cyber threats and developing national capabilities.
The CEO of Cipher, Thamer Al-Dhufairi, met with the Deputy Minister for Planning and Institutional Excellence, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Adhan, in the presence of the Director of the Directorate of Technology and Digital Transformation at the ministry, Engineer Abdul Karim Al-Jaafar, the CEO of Cipher's office in Syria, Engineer Iyad Hammoud, and the Deputy CEO of the Syria office, Engineer Malik Nasser.
The memorandum included joint cooperation in preparing cybersecurity standards, regulations, and legislation for the energy sector, enhancing compliance with international standards, as well as developing capabilities and technical solutions to protect vital assets, early detection of threats, and effective response to cyber attacks to ensure business continuity and protect sensitive data.
This step comes within the joint Saudi-Syrian efforts to enhance the national data protection system and develop rapid response frameworks for cyber attacks, in line with the requirements of comprehensive digital transformation.
