US military completes its eleventh night of strikes on Iran
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Wednesday the completion of its eleventh consecutive night of military operations against Iran, confirming the targeting of military operations centers, naval capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone warehouses, and military logistics facilities.
The command said the strikes aim to further weaken Iran's ability to threaten commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that Tehran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels over the past three months while they were transiting the international waterway.
In response, Iran activated its air defenses in the capital Tehran, amid reports of strikes and explosions in various parts of the country, hours after the US announcement of the completion of operations.
Iran's official television reported intensive air defense activity in western, eastern, and northeastern Tehran, while the IRNA news agency reported explosions in Bushehr province, which houses the country's only nuclear power plant, as well as strikes in southern and northwestern Iran.
