(CNN)--The United States launched a new wave of airstrikes on Iran on Friday, according to the US military.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on social media that it 'launched a round of strikes on Iran.'

The US military said the strikes aim to 'continue to undermine Iranian military capabilities,' but CENTCOM did not provide additional details on the targets or scope of the strikes.

Meanwhile, Mohsen Rezaei, a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard official and military adviser to the Supreme Leader, warned the United States of a 'comprehensive attack' if it continues to launch military strikes against Iran.

Iran's state broadcaster quoted Rezaei as saying in an interview: 'If the American attacks continue for another two or three days, we will enter a phase of comprehensive offensive operations.'

These remarks come on the seventh consecutive day of US strikes on Iran and Iranian retaliation targeting Arab allies of the United States.

Rezaei said that 'there will be no safe political boundaries for Iranian offensive forces,' adding that the United States should be compelled to pay financial compensation for what Iranian officials described as 'attacks on civilian infrastructure,' an accusation the US has denied.

Rezaei's threats largely mirror recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who declared the end of the already fragile ceasefire and memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran, coinciding with Washington's new strikes on the country.

Iran responded by launching strikes targeting US bases within the territories of some of its Arab allies, including Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
