The third-place match will bring together France and England at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, and later that same day, Spain will face Argentina at MetLife Stadium in the final.
Ahead of the tournament, FIFA increased the revenue for participating teams, reaching $871 million, a 15% increase.
FIFA raised preparation allocations from $1.5 million to $2.5 million, qualification bonuses from $9 million to $10 million, and allocated over $16 million additionally to support teams' delegation costs and increased ticket quotas.
Below we review the financial prizes for the top four teams (excluding the fixed guaranteed revenue of $12.5 million as a qualification bonus and training expenses), according to Euro Sport:
Champion: $50 million.
Runner-up: $33 million.
Third place: $29 million.
Fourth place: $27 million.
It is worth noting that FIFA also decided to award rings to members of this year's winning team, engraved with the World Cup trophy and tournament logo, along with a kit reflecting the identity and history of the champion team, in an unprecedented step.
