Sport newspaper reported that Baena was the center of conversation during La Roja's celebrations, especially when he and his teammates went to La Moncloa Palace, the seat of the Spanish government.

The venue witnessed a situation that sparked controversy between Baena and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. During the greeting ceremony, the player avoided looking at Sánchez's face, a scene reminiscent of what Dani Carvajal, the former Real Madrid captain, did in 2024.
