Spain coach Luis de la Fuente classified the behavior of Argentina players after the 2026 World Cup final, held last Sunday in East Rutherford, near New York, as 'unacceptable'.

Several players and members of the coaching staff of the Argentine national team, which lost the final 0-1 after extra time and thus relinquished the title, attacked their Spanish counterparts after the final whistle, including Spanish Atletico Madrid defender Nahuel Molina and former Paris Saint-Germain player Leandro Paredes, without facing any sanctions.

De la Fuente said in an interview with Spanish public television: 'At that moment, I did not realize what happened. I was celebrating and hugging people... but in any case, it is unacceptable and not allowed behavior. Such actions cannot be tolerated, especially from players of this stature, from great players whom I have never stopped praising.' The 'La Roja' coach emphasized the exemplary behavior of his players in the face of these 'attacks' and 'provocations,' which could have led to more serious incidents.

Despite these scenes being documented on video and widely circulated on social media, they have not, at least so far, led to any sanctions being imposed on the Argentine players.
