The technical staff of Qatar's Al Rayyan Club received a heavy blow on Thursday at the start of their preparations for the new season's competitions, after announcing the injury of their Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Al Rayyan clarified that medical examinations confirmed the Serbian striker needs to stay away from the pitch for a period of two to three months, as he is currently undergoing a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program under the supervision of the technical and medical staffs to ensure his full recovery and quick return.
The 31-year-old Mitrovic joined the ranks of Al Rayyan in September 2025 coming from Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, playing 14 matches with the team, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists.

It is worth noting that Al Rayyan, under the leadership of its new coach Luca Catan, is currently holding its preparatory camp in Spain, which witnessed a 3-3 draw against England's Rochdale in a friendly match.
