Mohamed Salah, the star of the Egyptian national team, made a promise to the Pharaohs' fans after the end of their participation in the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian team had reached the round of 16 for the first time in its history at the World Cup, before bowing out to Argentina with a 2-3 loss in a controversial match.

Mohamed Salah wrote on his account on 'X': 'I know you are still upset, but I promise you that I will do everything in my power to ensure that this is a new beginning for Egyptian football on the international stage.'

Salah added: 'Qualifying for the World Cup will not be enough, and participating as well is not enough. This team deserves your trust.'

It is worth noting that Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, changed Salah's role in most World Cup matches from right winger to playmaker, and the Liverpool legend succeeded in adapting to his new role with the Pharaohs.
