Salah Promises New Era for Egyptian Football After World Cup Exit
Mohamed Salah promised Egyptian fans he would do everything in his power to ensure a new beginning for Egyptian football on the international stage, after Egypt reached the round of 16 for the first time in their World Cup history but lost controversially to Argentina.
Mohamed Salah, the star of the Egyptian national team, made a promise to the Pharaohs' fans after the team's participation in the 2026 World Cup ended.
The Egyptian team had reached the round of 16 for the first time in its World Cup history, before exiting the tournament against Argentina with a 2-3 loss in a controversial match.
Mohamed Salah wrote on his X account: "I know you are still sad, but I promise you that I will do everything in my power to ensure that this is a new beginning for Egyptian football on the international stage."
Salah added: "Qualifying for the World Cup will not be enough, and participating will not be enough either. This team deserves your trust."
It is worth noting that Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, changed Salah's position in most World Cup matches from right winger to playmaker, and the Liverpool legend succeeded in adapting to his new role with the Pharaohs.
