(CNN)-- English striker Harry Kane revealed that he played golf with US President Donald Trump about a year and a half ago, during his time in Palm Beach, Florida.
Kane described the experience as "surreal," expressing his wish to reach Trump's level in the game.
Donald Trump had previously praised Harry Kane's abilities and skills, describing him as a "great player" after his brilliance with the "Three Lions" in the current World Cup, where he scored 6 goals and provided one assist.
In remarks reported by Eurosport on Saturday, Kane said: "I played well (during the golf round with the US president), to be honest, it was a very surreal experience to meet him and play golf with him of course."
He added: "He plays golf very well, to be honest with you, I hope I can play golf like him when I reach his age, that's for sure. It's a unique experience, but I was grateful for his invitation to play."
Regarding comparisons with Erling Haaland ahead of England vs Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals, the Bayern Munich striker said: "I think we are two completely different players almost. I know we are considered strikers, but honestly, they are two completely different positions."
He continued: "Erling's performance has been amazing, and his goal-scoring record is fantastic. He is a strong player, like a machine. His finishing ability is top class, and of course, his goal-scoring record speaks for itself."
He added: "I see myself as a different player, although I score the same goals. I like to touch the ball a bit more, be involved in the play, and play a bit more, but also I can play as a pure number 9."
He concluded: "I have a lot of respect for him as a player and as a professional colleague. I wish him a quiet day of course, but I think his overall performance in recent years speaks for itself. He is a great player."
