Al-Ahly Club has revealed the launch of a comprehensive transformation program for various sports sectors, to be implemented starting from the 2026-2027 sports season, as part of a plan aimed at enhancing the sustainability of the sector, developing national talents, and building a more competitive sports system in the long term.

In an official statement issued today, Friday, the club explained that the program will see the continuation of the men's volleyball team's activities across all categories, while it has been decided to suspend the activities of the first team in basketball and handball, while retaining the youth teams in both sports to continue developing players.

Al-Ahly indicated that it will announce over the coming weeks a set of new partnerships to reactivate individual sports such as swimming, tennis, gymnastics, and martial arts, contributing to expanding the base of practitioners and enhancing community participation. It also confirmed the nearing signing of a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education to launch after-school sports programs in basketball, handball, and volleyball in several neighborhoods of Jeddah, aiming to discover and refine talents. Al-Ahly emphasized that these steps are part of a long-term vision, affirming its commitment to transparency and working in the club's best interest, in preparation for a more sustainable phase and achieving more successes in the future.
