Regarding the fate of team sports, the club decided to maintain the activities of the first volleyball team and all youth age groups, while suspending the activities of the first men's basketball and handball teams, while keeping all age groups in both sports active and continuing talent development.

As reported by "Okaz", Al-Ahli Club announced today (Friday) the discontinuation of the current multi-sports system and the launch of a "comprehensive multi-sports transformation program" to be implemented starting from the 2026/2027 sports season, aiming to develop the sector and enhance competitiveness on sustainable foundations.
The Fate of Team Sports
The club decided to maintain the activities of the first volleyball team and all age groups. In contrast, the activities of the first men's basketball and handball teams will be suspended, while retaining all age groups in both sports and continuing efforts to prepare talents.
The Return of Individual Sports and New Partnerships
Al-Ahli confirmed in its statement that it will announce new partnerships in the coming weeks aimed at reactivating individual sports, including: martial arts, tennis, swimming, and gymnastics, as part of the club's efforts to enhance community participation in sports activities.
Partnership with the Ministry of Education
The club also revealed that it is close to signing a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education to provide "after-school" sports programs in several neighborhoods of Jeddah, covering basketball, handball, and volleyball, with the aim of discovering and developing national talent from the grassroots level.
