English club Ipswich Town announced Wednesday the signing of Moroccan international Issa Diop to join the first team for the upcoming season, coming from Fulham. The club, returning to the Premier League after one season in the Championship, did not disclose the transfer fee. Diop's contract with Fulham was set to expire in 2027. Ipswich Town stated on its website that Diop signed a contract until 2030. Diop (29) joins the team after playing for Morocco in the World Cup, held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, where he helped the team reach the quarter-finals. He had scored a late equalizer against the Netherlands in the Round of 16 before his country won on penalties. Diop, who represented France at various youth levels, has played nine matches for Morocco, including five at the 2026 World Cup before coach Mohamed Ouhbi's team ended its run in the quarter-finals with a loss to France. Ipswich will be the third English club Diop plays for, after he joined West Ham United in 2018 from Toulouse. He has played 96 matches for Fulham in all competitions.
