Bam Adebayo, a player for the American basketball team Miami Heat, punched his former teammate Tyler Herro during an altercation on Saturday in Las Vegas, according to media reports. ESPN reported that the incident took place at a training gym inside a hotel in Las Vegas. Sources told The Athletic that after an exchange of words, Adebayo approached Herro and without hesitation punched him. The dispute appears to have stemmed from comments Herro made on social media after his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks in a deal that saw Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo move to the Heat last June. Herro had criticized Adebayo's offensive abilities in comments regarding the maximum contract extension the center received from Miami. Before news of the altercation broke, Herro spoke positively about his relationship with the Heat and his former teammates during an interview on a Prime broadcast of a Summer League game between the Heat's and Bucks' young teams. Herro said: 'It's all love in Miami, and I saw some of the players and coaching staff. We're all good in Miami.' As he left the court, Herro was asked about the incident with Adebayo and simply replied: 'No comment,' as reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
