The charitable association 'A'friends' of Football Players has launched the 'Training Competencies' platform on its website, as a national platform aimed at highlighting former players who hold accredited coaching certificates and licenses, and connecting them with clubs and sports entities across various regions of the Kingdom, to benefit from their field experience in discovering and developing Saudi talents.

This initiative is a continuation of the association's efforts to empower former players, support their professional future, and integrate their cumulative experience into the national sports development system, in line with the sports objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the association, Captain Majed Abdullah, stressed that the launch of the 'Training Competencies' platform represents a pivotal turning point in the path of empowering former players and investing their experience, noting that this experience is a true national asset that the association seeks to utilize to serve the sports movement and discover talents in all regions of the Kingdom.

The association revealed that it has so far succeeded in training and qualifying 76 former players and enabling them to obtain accredited coaching licenses in cooperation with the relevant authorities, stressing the continuation of work to register more sports talents and send them to specialized training programs to expand the base of qualified national cadres.

This step complements the Saudi Football Federation's recent decision requiring clubs to appoint Saudi coaches within specific pathways; the platform has facilitated clubs' recruitment of these cadres and contracting with them to benefit from their technical expertise.

The platform allows clubs and sports sectors to view the resumes of qualified players, their coaching licenses, and technical experience, while providing a direct communication channel through the association to facilitate their recruitment and integration into the technical staff of clubs and sports centers.
