According to Argentine media, the government decided to limit the reception of the national team, scheduled for Monday, to an official ceremony at Ezeiza airport, with security forces and fire trucks, without organizing any public celebration.

Reports quoted a high-ranking source in the presidential palace as saying that the idea of holding a popular celebration to welcome the team was completely ruled out, given the atmosphere following the loss of the title.

Pablo Gravellone, a journalist for TN Sports, wrote on his X account: 'Messi will arrive tomorrow in Rosario and go directly to Funes. It's time for rest and family.'

He added: 'Messi did not tell anyone that this was his last match with the national team. Of course, this was his last World Cup, but he hasn't decided anything about his immediate future.'

Rosario is Messi's birthplace, while his family home is in the Funes area near Rosario.
