Real Madrid is trying to accelerate contract renewal negotiations with its Brazilian player Vinicius Junior, after his team's exit from the World Cup in the round of 16.

Sport newspaper reported that Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has asked to participate in the renewal negotiations for Vinicius, whose contract expires in the summer of 2027.

Mourinho is keen to prevent Vinicius's future from turning into a crisis, as the Brazilian player entering the final year of his contract without reaching an agreement makes the situation more complicated.

Vinicius's position remains clear: he wants to stay with Real Madrid, but not at any cost. He demands that his value be recognized, not only as a player but also as an important investment asset for the club.

Sport noted: "Real Madrid believes that the two parties are ultimately destined to reach an agreement, but Vinicius is upset by some media leaks suggesting an imminent deal, while negotiations remain at the same point as before the World Cup."

For this reason, Mourinho decided to intervene directly, contacting the player personally in an attempt to prevent the issue from turning into a long series of controversy.
