After Haiti Adventure, Migné Takes on Gabon Job
The Gabonese Football Federation appointed Frenchman Sébastien Migné as head coach of the national team on Saturday, after he led Haiti in the 2026 World Cup finals, as part of Gabon's efforts to reach the Africa Cup of Nations finals next year. Migné, 53, returns to African football after this appointment, having previously coached the national teams of Congo, Kenya, and Equatorial Guinea, and served as assistant coach of Cameroon during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Gabon will begin its qualifying campaign for the Africa Cup of Nations next September with two matches against Morocco and Niger. Migné helped Haiti qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 52 years, but the team exited the tournament in the first round of the finals held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The Gabonese Federation did not disclose any details regarding the contract terms when announcing Migné's appointment as national team coach.
