Al-Ahli Tops First Pot Ahead of AFC Champions League Elite Draw
Sources revealed the seedings of clubs participating in the draw for the 2026-2027 AFC Champions League Elite, scheduled to take place on August 18 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli topping the first pot.
The first pot included four clubs: Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli, UAE's Al-Ain, Qatar's Al-Sadd, and Iran's Esteghlal, placing them at the forefront of the participating teams in the draw.
Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr was placed in the second pot alongside Uzbekistan's Nasaf, Iraq's Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and UAE's Shabab Al-Ahli.
The third pot featured Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal alongside Qatar's Al-Gharafa, Iran's Tractor, and UAE's Al-Wasl.
The fourth pot included Qatar's Al-Shamal and Saudi Arabia's Al-Qadsiah, along with two teams that will qualify from the playoff to the group stage.
Saudi representatives Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Al-Qadsiah await the draw ceremony to learn their opponents in the new edition of the continental tournament, amid high ambitions to continue the strong presence of Saudi clubs on the Asian stage, given the fierce competition and outstanding results achieved by Saudi Roshn League representatives in continental competitions in recent years.
