Two stars of Egypt's Al Ahly and the Pharaohs have become among the names on the table of Saudi club Al-Ittihad, which seeks to bolster its midfield ahead of the new season.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reported on Sunday that Al-Ittihad's sports management has the Al Ahly players among its options, given their technical appreciation, but it will not move officially before German coach Jens Wissing determines his technical needs, prior to deciding on opening negotiations.

Marwan Attia (27 years old) occupies the defensive midfield position, has played 250 matches in his career, scoring 4 goals and providing 11 assists, and is under contract with the Red Giant until summer 2029, and was also part of Egypt's squad in the current World Cup.

As for Emam Ashour (28 years old), he possesses notable attacking numbers, having participated in 247 matches, scoring 53 goals and assisting 37, and is under contract with Al Ahly until summer 2028.

Ashour, a former Zamalek player, played all of Egypt's 5 matches in the 2026 World Cup, where the Pharaohs' journey ended with a dramatic 3-2 defeat at the hands of Argentina in stoppage time.
