Al-Ittihad Club issued a medical report on the condition of four first-team players ahead of the start of the 2026/2027 season, indicating the imminent return of Dutchman Steven Bergwijn to training at the Marbella camp, while rehabilitation programs continue for Malian professional Mamadou Doumbia, Talal Haji, and Saad Al-Mousa after various surgeries.
Al-Ittihad Club revealed the medical report of four players from the first football team during the preparation period for the start of the new season 2026/2027.
The club stated in its statement that Dutch player Steven Bergwijn is suffering from a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, and is currently finishing the last week of his rehabilitation program in Amsterdam, and will join the team's training on July 14 during the preparatory camp in Marbella, Spain.
The statement added that Malian professional Mamadou Doumbia underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery in his right knee, and is currently continuing his rehabilitation program under the supervision of the club's medical staff.
The club noted that player Talal Haji underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee, and is continuing his rehabilitation program in the club's medical department.
Meanwhile, player Saad Al-Mousa suffered a fracture in his right ankle, underwent successful surgery to repair it, and is currently continuing his rehabilitation program in the club's medical department.
