Al-Nassr close to loaning Duran and Wesley
Al-Nassr is nearing agreements to loan Colombian John Duran to Galatasaray and Brazilian Wesley to Cruzeiro, aiming to reduce salary costs.
Al-Nassr's management is moving to reduce the salary bill during the summer transfer window, having neared finalizing two agreements to loan Colombian John Duran and Brazilian Wesley to clubs outside the Saudi league.
According to reports, Duran is close to moving to Turkish Galatasaray on loan, a step that will save Al-Nassr approximately 10 million euros of his annual salary, without the agreement including any loan fee, as the club seeks to restructure its squad for the new season.
In the same context, Brazilian winger Wesley is close to joining Brazilian Cruzeiro on loan, which will save Al-Nassr about $500,000 of his annual salary, along with an additional clause granting the Saudi club $25,000 for each match the player participates in with the Brazilian team.
The moves come as part of the management's plan to ease financial burdens and make room for strengthening the team with new elements during the summer transfer window, in line with the technical staff's vision for the upcoming season.
Portuguese duo Nelson Semedo and José Simão played a prominent role in marketing the players, as they succeeded in reaching agreements to loan them without a financial return, focusing on offloading their high salaries and achieving the maximum financial benefit for the club by reducing annual obligations.
